The Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final holds pride of place among grassroots surf clubs across the country.

Forget any mate versus mate format – this event is ‘club versus club’ with 80 of Australia’s top board riding clubs represented across the qualifying rounds. Now, with the finals on the line, 42 clubs are here to chase the crown off Burleigh Heads.

Surfing is in our city’s DNA. We love our water sports and surfing has delivered some of the best male and female athletes on the WSL tour.

Our local champions have proven their passion for giving back to the sport and I know this weekend’s event is packed with activities at the event expo, allowing fans to get up close and personal with their heroes.

As Mayor, I applaud Surfing Australia for showing faith in our city to again deliver an epic final over two big days.

It’s time for Gold Coasters to catch the action and cheer on our local heroes as they chase the 2026 Hyundai Australian Boardriders crown.

Go the Gold Coast!
